WSOP Event #31: James Van Alstyne rides the HORSE and earns $250K

Is well known by the poker community that H.O.R.S.E. is one of the most difficult (if not the most) poker discipline. Well, this is not for all. When it comes to James Van Alstyne, its seems he exels on it, having reached two HORSE final heads-up in less than one week.

The Event #21, $3,000 HORSE was one of them. Van Alstyne ended up facing Zac Fellows but couldn’t do it, falling short in second place. But hey, there are plenty of HORSE events in this years WSOP and Alstyne had some more to say. Five days later (yesterday) he was right back in the final heads-up of another HORSE event. This time he arrived with the chip lead and never let it go. Tad Jurgens had much less chips that Van Alstyne and, despite he tried with all his forces, finally occupied the runner-up place.

Once he grabbed the chip lead, it was a conformable trip for an Alstyne. He literally destroyed his opponents with hard and unstoppable play (supported with some strong cards) to capture his first-ever World Series gold bracelet. Plus, how we can forget that, $250,000 in first prize money that he can add to his more than $3 million in tournament winnings in his career.

Good job, Van Alstyne. See you in the next HORSE Event!
