Wow! What a marathon! Today we can say that the two last men standing, Derek Raymond and Mark Tenner, deserved the victory in Event #46 – $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo. Both played excellent poker but, as ever, ony one can claim the title. Finally, the honours went to Raymond who got the proper hands when he needed them.
Raymond started the day 9th in chips, out of the 23 players that were in the game. He played quiet poker and climbed his way up slowly, player after player. When the final table started, he had enough chips to do a good run. He started in fourth place and could develop his tranquil game.
Finally, stamina and resistance, and a bit of luck, gave Raymond the bracelet. This thing could easily ended in a different way. But it didn’t, and Derek Raymond is the new champion.
Congratulations to Derek for his brand new gold WSOP bracalet and the $229,192 first prize.
