Russian Poker Tour: Youngster Vadim Kursevich wins the first one for $63K

The Russian Poker is back, and we have just met the first champion of this first event of the new season.

It happened this weekent, in Kyiv, Ukraine. A total of 123 players took their seats and competed for their share of a $220,720 prize pool. Some very known faces of Russian poker didn’t want to miss the first RPT event as Alex Kravchenko, Ivan Demidov, Alexander Dovzhenko, Vadim Markushevsky, and EPT Kyiv champion Maxim Lykov showed up for the Main Event.

On the last day (4th day) of the battle, and after eleven hours of play, the heads-up was set up between Vadim Markushevsky and Vadim Kursevich. All happened quite quick. Both players ended with all chips on the middle in the first hand of the challenge. Markushevsky had A-7, while Kursevich held K-Q. But how’s poker, Kursevich the flop brang two pairs for Kursevich and they were enough to win the tournament.

So, this way the yougster Kursevich received the a cheque worth $63,123 for the first place finish. We expect to see him in the next events of the tour. Definitely he can now afford to buy-in in all them.

RPT players will have a next chance to compete for more money and a new title in Egypt, Sharm El Shaikh, in a couple of weeks. What a Russian Poker Tour this year.
