When Amer Sulaiman landed in Costa Rica some days ago, he only expected to spend some relaxed days in the awesome beaches that this country has to offer. Not only he did that, he’s going to go back to his home in Canada with $172,095 extra in his pocket, together with a LAPT title.
The 45-year, who borned in Iraq, went to Playa Conchal for a vacation with his girlfriend, but at last minute he decided to join the first 3rd season LAPT. We are pretty surte they won’t regret the decision. The Canadian is now the newest champion of the LAPT.

It all happened quite fast, after six players have been busted, Sulaiman was facing to Bergren for the title. The latter never had the chances. If he flopped a pair, Sulaiman would complete trips. If he completed trips, the Canadian had a straight. At the end, with less than 8 BB, Bergren pushed his stack to the middle with 6♠7♠, and Sulaiman had him dominated with T♦7♥. Te flop brought T♥5♠4♣ and gave Sulaiman the top pair. An A♣ on the turn and Q♥ on the river ended the adventure for Bergren, and the LAPT crowned anoter champion, the first of Season 3. He’ll take $172,095 back to Canadá.
The next LAPT event will take place on the Bahamas for the PCA on January (where the tour will join the EPT) before moving to Uruguay for the LAPT Punta del Este that will take place on February.
