EPT Warsaw: French Christophe Benzimra claims the title

We have a new EPT champion. Christophe Benzimra, from France, has just won EPT Warsaw for a first prize of 1,493,170 PLN (€358,644).

The 47-year-old from Nice, defeated the Italian online pro Alfio “aLFiosNob” Battisti to claim the tournament. Benzimra started playing poker only 3 years ago, but has played almost every EPT event during the last 2 seasons.

“I think I was lucky today. I am not a professional, I play for fun,”- admitted Christophe.

The EPT Warsaw Main Event (PLN 25,500) saw 203 players taking their seats at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, on which is the lower participation on an EPT this season. Despite that, the prize pool was elevated to more than 4.7 million PLN (€1,145,800).

The second place finisher, the Italian Battisti, is currently a SuperNova Elite on PokerStars, and will be back to Rome with approximately €200,520 in his pocket.

Also other big names were in the scene, as the pro Luca Pagano (4th for €85,938) or Clayton Mozdzen (6th for €56,144). Among 24 cashers we found some other big names as Shaun Deeb. Dario Minieri also won high roller event and claimed €77,206.
